Poetry website

Post by K »

Hi all,

I've been looking for Local poets and relevant links for the Lincolnshire area and happened across this website. So I'll plug my own website whilst I'm here.

http://www.nelincspoetry.co.uk

I'll throw In a poem for good measure, hoping that this isn't one of those tear you apart forums.

The Stunning Mount of Grain Dale

Just witnessed the stunning Mount of Grain Dale.
Although it seems, it isn’t in my soul to write
about the vast winter emptiness below. The
Christmas Cake villages that sunk beneath reason,
the marzipan houses that tilted so frequently I
could pick em, with a pinch, if I were a giant, and
lay them safely straight, compact to the inch that
may well be a mile, who cares, the air is so light
up here, I throw my arms toward heaven, and score
goals in slow motion, forever.

cheers
Kris

Nice site, and for here ;

Grimsby Poets.

Grimsby having poets may seem hard to believe,
though they have pea green boats and cabbages and things
that might just ensure a lone Grimsby poet sings ?
And maybe all the water and seagulls and stuff
may just make some Grimsby folk poetic enough ?

Thanks Digiwizz,

I Must do some more work on the website.

I enjoyed your poem. Slightly cynical about Grimsby, Moi?, lol

I liked the references to Lear and Lewis, I'm a fan of both.

In fact I'd like to use it on the website if that's ok with you, very relevant, would sit well with the poem I wrote for the front page.

Just give me the nod and I'll slot it in.

cheers

Fine Kris, do slot away.

I will be looking at your site to behold the fruits of your labour.

And I really think Grimsby is very OK.

Well Kris what I would really like I suppose is Grimsby to become the Camden of the North !

They should open the market on Sundays for crafts, art, antiques, clothes and stuff - and get some life going around it maybe with some pub theatre, pub poetry and such instead of too many boarded-up shops ?
