Seen the milk flavour ads by Robinsons, with a little bit of that great song Abracadabra ? There have been a few versions, and going something like this ;

Abracadabra, Steve Miller.

I heat up, I can't cool down
You got me spinnin round and round
Round and round and round it goes
Where it stops nobody knows

Every time you call my name
I heat up like a burning flame
burning flame full of desire
Kiss me baby let the fire get higher

Abra abracadabra, I wanna reach out and grab ya
Abra abracadabra... Abracadabra

You make me hot, you make me sigh
You make me laugh, you make me cry
Keep me burning for your love
With the touch of a velvet glove

Abra abracadabra, I wanna reach out and grab ya
Abra abracadabra... Abracadabra

I feel the magic in your caress
I feel magic when I touch your dress
Silk and satin, leather and lace
Black panties with an angel face

I see magic in your eyes
I hear magic in your sighs
Just when I think I've gotta get away
I hear those words that you won't say

Abra abracadabra, I wanna reach out and grab ya
Abra abracadabra... Abracadabra

Every time you call my name
I heat up like a burnin flame
Burnin flame for desire
Kiss me baby with the fire

I heat up, I can't cool down
My situation goes run around
I heat up, I can't cool down
My situation goes burning down
I heat up I can't cool down
My situation goes running down

Abra abracadabra, I wanna reach out and grab ya
Abra abracadabra... Abracadabra

Yes that Robinson's ad does not include much of the song - and it is a song that I like a lot too !

Well ads can often give a useful reminder of some great songs - but usually they have only a tiny bit of the song, and often change the words to complete rubbish as well !!

Have you come across an ad that really murders a good song ??

Another good song that I have come across bits of (mis)used in Ads lately is Electric Avenue ;

Electric Avenue - Eddy Grant 1982

Boy, Boy, Boy, Boy

Now in the street there is violence
And then there's lots of work to be done.
No place to hang out our washin'
And then they can't blame all on the sun.

Oh no,
We gonna rock down to
Electric Avenue
And then we'll take it higher.
Oh we gonna rock down to
Electric Avenue
And then we'll take it higher.

Workin' so hard like a soldier
Can't afford the things on T.V.
Deep in my heart I abhor ya
Can't get food for the kid.

Good God,
We gonna rock down to
Electric Avenue
And then we'll take it higher.
Ho we gonna rock down to
Electric Avenue
And then we'll take it higher.

Oh no, Oh no, Oh no, Oh no

We gonna rock down to
Electric Avenue
And then we'll take it higher.
Ho we gonna rock down to
Electric Avenue
And then we'll take it higher.

Boy, Boy, Boy, Boy

Oh no, Oh no, Oh no, Oh no

We gonna rock down to
Electric Avenue
And then we'll take it higher.
Ho we gonna rock down to
Electric Avenue
And then we'll take it higher.

PS. and on the same lines his 'Living on the Frontline' and 'Gimme Hope Jo'Anna' are good
plus another great 1982 Eddy Grant song was his 'I Don't Wanna Dance',

Another classic song now in a TV ad is Bright Lights, Big City ;

Bright Lights, Big City - 1962 Jimmy Reid

Bright lights, big city,
gone to my baby's head.
Oh bright lights, an' big city,
gone to my baby's head.
I tried to tell the woman,
but she don't believe a word I said.

It's all right, pretty baby,
need my help someday.
Whoa, it's all right, pretty baby,
gonna need my help someday.
Ya' gonna wish you had a-listened,
to some a-those things I said.

Go ahead, pretty baby,
a-honey, knock yourself out.
Oh go ahead, pretty baby,
honey, knock yourself out.
I still love ya baby,
cause you don't know what it's all about.

Bright lights, a big city,
they went to my baby's head.
Oh, the bright lights, the big city,
they went to my baby's head.
I hope you remember,
a-some of those things I said.

Hi AllMost. I do agree that some Hannah Montana songs are just ads for the TV show and they drive me nuts.

But she does do some very good songs, and a love song of hers that I do really like is her "If We Were A Movie".
