Do for love - For Your Love, No Matter What

I recently heard the nice old Yardbirds song 'For Your Love' about wanting to do anything for the one you love (lyric below). Many other good songs have said basically the same thing as an ideal love idea.

Of course life should be lived within some reasonable limits, and being a complete idiot for love is still being a complete idiot.

The classic doing bad for love and paying for doing bad is of course 'Chain Gang' - 'breaking up these rocks on a chain gang, all because of that woman of mine'. Of course really most crimes are done for greed, with some for spite or stupid bravado or just stupidity - but a few crimes are done for love wrongly or occasionally perhaps rightly.

But really love mean wanting to do well for the one you love, without bringing unwanted troubles or dangers for yourself or them - of course you will not find many love songs saying that. (the nearest I can think of is Meatloaf's 'I'd Do Anything For Love, But I won't Do That' - and I'm not entirely sure what that song really means) But the idealistic Do For Love songs are good - like this one ;

For Your Love, The Yardbirds 1965 by Graham Gouldman

For your love.
For your love.
For your love.
I'd give you everything and more, and that's for sure.
For your love.
I'd bring you diamond rings and things right to your door.
For your love.

To thrill you with delight,
I'll give you diamonds bright.
There'll be things that will excite,
To make you dream of me at night.

For your love.
For your love.
For your love.

For your love, for your love,
I would give the stars above.
For your love, for your love,
I would give you all I could.

For your love.
For your love.
For your love.
I'd give the moon if it were mine to give.
For your love.
I'd give the stars and the sun 'fore I live.
For your love.

To thrill you with delight,
I'll give you diamonds bright.
There'll be things that will excite,
To make you dream of me at night.

For your love.
For your love.
For your love.
For your love.

Hear it ;

Another great anything-for-love song is No Matter What by Boyzone - reminds me a bit of 'No matter, never mind' but does not have the phrase 'never mind' in it - but maybe a bit redneck religious-cult anarchy to it ? ;

No Matter What, by Boyzone 1998
Andrew Lloyd Webber / Jim Steinman

No matter what they tell us
No matter what they do
No matter what they teach us
What we believe is true

No matter what they call us
However they attack
No matter where they take us
We'll find our own way back

I can't deny what I believe
I can't be what I'm not
I know I'll love forever
I know, no matter what

If only tears were laughter (ooh)
If only night was day (ooh)
If only prayers were answered (hear my prayers)
Then we would hear God say (say)

No matter what they tell you (ooh)
No matter what they do (ooh)
No matter what they teach you
What we believe is true

And I will keep you safe and strong
And shelter from the storm
No matter where it's barren
A dream is being born (ooh)

No matter who they follow
No matter where they lead
No matter how they judge us
I'll be everyone you need

No matter if the sun don't shine (sun don't shine)
Or if the skies are blue (skies are blue)
No matter what the end is
My life began with you

I can't deny what I believe (what I believe, yeah)
I can't be what I'm not (I know, I know)
I know this love's forever
That's all that matters now
No matter what

No matter what (no, no matter, no)

No, no matter
That's all that matters to me.
No, no matter
That's all that matters to me.
No, no matter
That's all that matters to me.
No, no matter
That's all that matters to me.
No, no matter
That's all that matters to me.
No, no matter
That's all that matters to me.
No, no matter
That's all that matters to me.

Hear it ;

Yes the Andrew Lloyd Webber song 'No Matter What' by Ireland's Boyzone is a great song,
and I do NOT like most Webber songs much.

I thought it was from Webber's 'Jesus Christ Superstar' but seems not ?
More like love is better than churches or governments ?
