If you have seen the movie School of Rock, about some kids actually trying to do well, then here is its great main song ;

School of Rock.

Baby we was making straight A's,
But we were stuck in a dumb daze.
Don't take much to memorize your lies.
I feel like I've been hypnotisized.
And then that magic man; he come to town.
Whoo wee! He done spun my head around.
He said, "Recess is in session. Two and two make five."
And now baby, oh, I'm alive.
Oh yeah! I'm alive.

And if you want to be the teacher's pet,
Well baby you just better forget it.
Rock got no reason. Rock got no rhyme.
You better get me to school on time.

Oh you know I was on an honor roll.
Got good grades and got no soul.
Raised my hand before I could speak my mind.
I been biting my tongue too many times.
And then that magic man said to obey..uh-huh
"Do what magic man do, not what magic man say."
Now can I please have the attention of the class.
Today's assignment... ahem... kick some ass!

And if you want to be the teacher's pet,
Well baby you just better forget it.
Rock got no reason. Rock got no rhyme.
You better get me to school on time.

And if you want to be the teacher's pet,
Well baby you just better forget it.
Rock got no reason. Rock got no rhyme.
You better get me to school on time.

This is my final exam.
Now you all know who I am.
I might not be that perfect son.
But ya'll be rockin' when I'm done.

(PS. and of course some backbround ''Oh La La La''s ! )

Yes a nice one Digiwizz, and another song I do like about rocking is the great Johnny B Goode,

Johnny B. Goode, Chuck Berry 1958

Deep down in Louisiana, close to New Orleans,
Way back up in the woods among the evergreens,
There stood a log cabin made of earth and wood,
Where lived a country boy, named Johnny B. Goode,
Who never ever learned to read or write so well,
But he could play the guitar just like a-ringin' a bell.

Go-go,
Go Johnny, go, go.
Go Johnny, go, go.
Go Johnny, go, go.
Go Johnny, go, go.
Johnny B. Goode.

He used to carry his guitar in a gunny sack.
Go sit beneath the tree by the railroad track.
Oh, the engineer would see him sitting in the shade,
Strummin' with the rhythm that the drivers made.
People passing by, they would stop and say,
"Oh my, but that little country boy could play."

Go-go,
Go Johnny, go, go.
Go Johnny, go, go.
Go Johnny, go, go.
Go Johnny, go, go.
Johnny B. Goode.

His mother told him, "Someday you will be a man,
And you would be the leader of a big old band.
Many people coming from miles around,
To hear you play your music till the sun go down.
Maybe someday your name will be in lights,
Saying, 'Johnny B. Goode tonight'."

Go-go,
Go Johnny, go, go.
Go Johnny, go, go.
Go Johnny, go, go.
Go Johnny, go, go.
Johnny B. Goode.

Covers of this song have been done by many singers, with variations to its lyrics and maybe its meaning.

Hi Clare,

I like your Johnny B Goode, and the Amazon clip of it.
It seems that anybody posting a song lyric here now is getting these clips added to their post - good work !
