Heart of Gold, Coming Round The Mountain, No Matter What
Now for the 1890s American railroad workers traditional song "She'll Be Coming Round The Mountain",
believed to be a modification of the earlier negro Rapture spiritual “When the Chariot Comes" and
which often has its lyric further modified to include eg
"Singing I will if you will, so will I,
Singing I will if you will, so will I,
Singing I will if you will,
I will if you will, I will if you will, so will I"
Listen to a bit of She'll Be Coming Round The Mountain ;

Good, but reminds me of a 1972 Neil Young song 'Heart of Gold' that I at first somehow misheard as 'Searching for a Pot of Gold' and saw as maybe an alchemist song or of a scientist searching for a breakthrough or searching for funding to do long-planned experiments ? The lyric does however clearly refer to 'mining' as for actual gold, and it would make a good song if somewhat different by replacing 'heart of gold' with 'pot of gold' and maybe add lines like 'do not know about a rainbow' and 'do not know about a dice throw' ? This song is also somewhat unusually a young person singing about getting old, which rarely makes for a good popular song like this is, but when younger Neil Young did work for a funeral company. He followed his hit 'Heart of Gold' with another song about getting old 'Old Man'. But it is maybe strange that singers who are now getting older like Cher, Tina Turner and Mick Jagger rarely sing about getting old ?
And it is a rather interesting Bob Dylan style song, so why not listen to it ?

Yes indeed Heart of Gold is a good song, but maybe a new version could work even better, as maybe ;
Lottery Win.
I want to live, I want to give
I've been a miner for a lottery win
It's these expressions, I never give
That keep me searching for a lottery win
And I'm getting old
Keep me searching for a lottery win
And I'm getting old
For my own dreams, my pet project means
I dug rainbows for a lottery win
I've been in my mind, It's such a fine line
That keeps me searching for a lottery win
And I'm getting old
Keeps me searching for a lottery win
And I'm getting old
For my girl's needs, to buy big house deeds
I borrowed big for a pot of gold
I've bet all my life, To have a good wife
That keeps me searching for a lottery win
And I'm getting old
Keeps me searching for a lottery win
And I'm getting old
To leave my sons, more help than just guns
I gambled big for a lottery win
I've wasted my time, My kids I've failed
That keeps me searching for a lottery win
And I'm getting old
Keeps me searching for a lottery win
And I'm getting old
Keeps me searching for a lottery win
And I'm getting old
Keep me searching for a lottery win
I've been a miner for a lottery win
And I'm growing old

And another good song is the 1998 'No Matter What' by Irish Dublin boy band BoyZone.
This song is from the 1996 Andrew LLoyd Webber musical 'Whistle Down the Wind' and was written by Jim Steinman.
Hear it ;

PS. This song seems to support maybe love for some kind of crazy religion or cult, but maybe a new version could be better as supporting maybe somewhat crazy love between people as love between people of different race, different ages, different religions or not-different sexes ?
eg,
'No Matter What They Say' or 'Our Own Different Way'
They say our love is wrong
But our love is here to stay
We know that we can be strong
and we will follow our own different way.
Note : There are some good songs about love between people of different social class like 'Hang On Sloopy', And though not fully the same idea, there was a rap song called 'No Matter What They Say' by US black rapper Lil Kim (1993-2018).
